SHEET FEEDING DEVICE AND RECORDING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240190674 titled 'SHEET FEEDING DEVICE AND RECORDING APPARATUS

The patent application describes a sheet feeding device for feeding a sheet from a roll sheet, comprising a holder portion, a guide portion, a rear member, and a front member that are all interconnected to facilitate the feeding process.

  • The holder portion supports the roll sheet around which the sheet is wound and allows for rotation.
  • The guide portion directs the roll sheet towards the holder portion for feeding.
  • The rear member is part of the guide portion and extends from the holder portion in a specific direction.
  • The front member is connected to the rear member and can project from it in the same direction, being movable with respect to the rear member.

Potential Applications: - Printing industry for feeding paper in printers - Packaging industry for feeding packaging material - Manufacturing industry for continuous sheet feeding processes

Problems Solved: - Efficient feeding of sheets from a roll - Smooth transition of sheets without jams or interruptions

Benefits: - Increased productivity due to continuous feeding - Reduced downtime and maintenance costs - Improved accuracy and consistency in sheet feeding

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in various industries such as printing, packaging, and manufacturing for efficient sheet feeding processes, leading to cost savings and improved productivity.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the front member facilitate the feeding process? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this sheet feeding device in different industries?

Original Abstract Submitted

disclosed is a sheet feeding device for feeding a sheet from a roll sheet, including: a holder portion that rotatably supports the roll sheet around which the sheet to be fed is wound; a guide portion that guides the roll sheet to the holder portion; a rear member that is included in the guide portion and projects from the holder portion in a projection direction; and a front member that is included in the guide portion and is connected to the rear member to be capable of projecting from the rear member in the projection direction. the front member is configured to be movable in the projection direction with respect to the rear member.
