INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240163558 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes an information processing apparatus that can detect a target object in an image, determine if the object has exited a specific region, and adjust the image capturing range and zoom magnification accordingly.
- Detection unit to identify a target object in an image
- Setting unit to define a specific region within the image
- Determination unit to decide if the target object has left the region
- Control unit to adjust the image capturing range based on the determination
- Zoom magnification setting unit to maintain the same zoom level as before the object entered the region
Potential Applications
This technology could be used in surveillance systems, automated photography, and object tracking applications.
Problems Solved
This innovation helps in efficiently tracking and monitoring specific objects within an image, reducing the need for manual adjustments.
Benefits
- Improved accuracy in object detection and tracking - Automated adjustment of image capturing parameters - Enhanced surveillance capabilities
Potential Commercial Applications
- Security systems - Photography equipment - Automated tracking systems
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be automated surveillance systems that track objects within a specific area but may not have the capability to adjust image capturing parameters based on object movement.
Unanswered Questions
How does the apparatus differentiate between the target object and other objects in the image?
The detection unit must have a mechanism to identify the specific target object from the rest of the image content.
What is the response time for the determination unit to decide if the object has exited the predetermined region?
The speed at which the determination unit can make this decision could impact the overall effectiveness of the apparatus in real-time applications.
Original Abstract Submitted
an information processing apparatus includes a detection unit configured to detect a predetermined target object from an image that has been captured by an image capturing unit, a setting unit configured to set a predetermined region with respect to the image, a determination unit configured to perform a determination as to whether or not the target object has exited from the inside of the predetermined region, a control unit configured to control an image capturing range of the image capturing unit according to a result that has been determined by the determination unit, and a zoom magnification setting unit configured to set the zoom magnification of the image capturing unit to the same zoom magnification as that before the target object enters the predetermined region, in a case in which the determination unit determines that the target object has exited from the inside of the predetermined region.
