STORAGE MEDIUM, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240104296 titled 'STORAGE MEDIUM, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an object layout program that improves convenience when a user is arranging objects on a graphical user interface.

  • The program displays a graphical user interface with regions for arranging objects and displaying a list of available objects.
  • It derives a candidate region for arranging a selected object based on the arrangement of other objects.
  • The program arranges the selected object in the designated region in response to user input.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in software design, graphic design, and user interface development to streamline the process of arranging objects on a screen.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of inefficiency and inconvenience when arranging objects on a graphical user interface, by providing a more intuitive and automated process.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved user experience, increased efficiency in layout operations, and a more organized and visually appealing design.

Potential Commercial Applications

Potential commercial applications of this technology include software development tools, graphic design software, and user interface design platforms.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be existing object layout programs or software tools that assist users in arranging objects on a screen.

Unanswered Questions

How does the program determine the candidate region for arranging a selected object?

The program derives the candidate region based on the arrangement of other objects, but the specific algorithm or criteria used for this determination is not detailed in the abstract.

What types of objects can be arranged using this program?

The abstract mentions a list of objects that can be arranged in the first region, but it does not specify the range or types of objects that are supported by the program.

Original Abstract Submitted

an object is to improve convenience in a case when a user is conducting a layout operation. an embodiment of the present invention is an object layout program that causes a computer to execute an information processing method including a first displaying step of displaying a graphical user interface having a first region in which to arrange an object and a second region in which to display a list of an object that can be arranged in the first region, a deriving step of deriving a candidate region in which to arrange an object selected by a user in the first region, based on a state of arrangement of an object other than the selected object in the first region, and an arranging step of arranging the selected object in the first region in response to an operation of the user.
