IPC Code(s): H04B10/70, G06N10/40
CPC Code(s): H04B10/70
Abstract: a system and method for providing quantum entanglement using a hybrid space-fiber quantum network are described. the hybrid space-fiber quantum network includes a communications hub located proximate to an optical ground station and also includes an aerial entangled particle source, such as an entangled photon source attached to a satellite, drone, aircraft, etc. an atmospheric or free-space channel is used to distribute quantum entanglement between optical ground stations that are separated by geographic distances, via the aerial entangled particle source. also, fiber optic links are connected to the communications hub located proximate to the optical ground station. the communications hub includes optical switches that enable any of the fiber optic links connected to the communications hub to receive or send distributed quantum entanglement to a remotely located recipient endpoint via the atmospheric or free-space channel.
Inventor(s): Antia LAMAS LINARES of Austin TX (US) for amazon technologies, inc.
IPC Code(s): H04L9/08
CPC Code(s): H04L9/0852
Abstract: a system and method for providing metered quantum entanglement-as-a-service are described. entangled pair source nodes apply a unitary transformation to generated entangled quantum particles, such that the entangled quantum particles are transformed into a given one of a plurality of transformed states that are selected randomly or in a manner that is not readily apparent to customers. the transformed entangled quantum particles are distributed to recipients, such as customers. however, in order for the recipients to be able to use the received entangled particles to communicate shared information, such as a shared secret, the recipients require knowledge of the respective states of the entangled quantum particles resulting from the randomly selected transformations. the state information is metered out in response to receiving payment or other authorization indicating a recipient/customer has complied with terms of use of the quantum entanglement distribution service.

IPC Code(s): H04L47/2441, H04L43/062, H04L43/0882, H04L47/2483, H04L47/762, H04L47/78, H04L47/80
CPC Code(s): H04L47/2441
Abstract: traffic flow across a backbone network can be determined even though flow data may not be available from all network devices. flow data can be observed using types of backbone devices, such as aggregation and transit devices. an algorithm can be applied to determine which data to utilize for flow analysis, where this algorithm can be based at least in part upon rules to prevent duplicate accounting of traffic being observed by multiple devices in the backbone network. such an algorithm can use information such as source address, destination address, and region information to determine which flow data to utilize. in some embodiments, address mapping may be used to attribute this traffic to various services or entities. the data can then be analyzed to provide information about the flow of traffic across the backbone network, which can be useful for purposes such as network optimization and usage allocation.

Inventor(s): Rama Chandra Rao Nalam of Hyderabad (IN) for amazon technologies, inc.
IPC Code(s): H04L47/78, H04L47/762, H04L47/80
CPC Code(s): H04L47/781
Abstract: a system for applying metadata tags based on metadata tag groups is described. the system includes a plurality of compute nodes configured to provide a plurality of computing resources for clients of a provider network and a resource tag manager for the provider network. the resource tag manager is configured to receive, from a first client of an account of the provider network, a creation request to establish a resource attribute group comprising a plurality of resource keys and a plurality of resource values, wherein respective metadata keys correspond to respective resource values. the resource tag manager may receive, from a second client of the account, an application request to apply the resource attribute group to a computing resource and apply the plurality of resource keys and the plurality of resource values to metadata maintained for the computing resource.

IPC Code(s): H04N21/84, H04N21/81, H04N21/858
CPC Code(s): H04N21/84
Abstract: a system for utilizing media content reference point information to perform media content encoding, and supplemental content stitching and/or insertion. media content can be encoded and packaged based on boundaries of the media content. the boundaries can be received from a third-party and/or generated via an automated process. target boundaries can be selected based on accuracy levels associated with the received and/or generated boundaries. supplemental content can be stitched and/or inserted into packaged media content based on audio and video content of the packaged media content being aligned.
