Stereo Depth Markers - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240078743 titled 'Stereo Depth Markers
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes devices, systems, and methods that utilize a user-positioned stereo depth marker to modify a stereoscopic scene. This marker can be used to position content within the scene based on stereo depth information, camera height, and other factors. Additionally, the marker can associate objects with background or foreground aspects, allowing for the rendering of altered stereo content.
- User-positioned stereo depth marker used to modify stereoscopic scenes
- Marker provides information on stereo depth, camera height, and object positioning
- Marker can position content within the scene and associate objects with background or foreground aspects
- Allows for the rendering of altered stereo content

The patent application does not discuss any potential limitations or challenges that may arise when implementing this technology.
Original Abstract Submitted
various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that modify a stereoscopic scene using a user-positioned stereo depth marker. in one example, the marker may be used to position content (e.g., computer-generated, virtual content, 3d objects, etc.) on top of/within the stereo scene by providing info about stereo depth, camera height, where features sit in depth in each eye's image, etc. in another example, the marker may additionally or alternatively be used to associate one or more objects, such as a tree depicted within the scene, with the background or foreground aspects/plates, which may then be rendered differently in providing the altered stereo content.
