REFERENCE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240039669 titled 'REFERENCE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a method for interpreting a presence indicator in a cellular network. The presence indicator determines whether a set of configured reference signal occasions in a cell carries reference signals. The method involves obtaining the presence indicator configuration and reference signal configurations from a base station, and using them to determine if a given reference signal occasion carries a reference signal.
- The method determines how a presence indicator is interpreted in a cellular network.
- The presence indicator indicates whether a set of configured reference signal occasions carries reference signals.
- The method obtains the presence indicator and reference signal configurations from a base station.
- The method uses the presence indicator and configurations to determine if a specific reference signal occasion carries a reference signal.
Potential Applications:
- This technology can be used in cellular networks to efficiently interpret presence indicators and determine if reference signals are present in specific occasions.
- It can improve the accuracy and reliability of reference signal detection in cellular networks.
Problems Solved:
- The method solves the problem of accurately interpreting presence indicators in cellular networks.
- It addresses the challenge of determining if reference signals are present in specific occasions based on the presence indicator configuration.
Benefits:
- The method improves the efficiency of reference signal detection in cellular networks.
- It enhances the overall performance and reliability of cellular network communication.
- It allows for better management and optimization of cellular network resources.
Original Abstract Submitted
there is provided a method, comprising: determining a presence indicator configuration defining how a presence indicator is to be interpreted, wherein, based on the configuration, the presence indicator indicates whether a set of one or more configured reference signal occasions of a cell carries reference signals; obtaining from a base station the presence indicator; obtaining from the base station at least one reference signal configuration, each indicating at least one configured reference signal occasion; and determining, based on the presence indicator and the obtained presence indicator configuration, whether a given reference signal occasion indicated by the at least one reference signal configuration carries a reference signal.
