HANDHELD GYNECOLOGICAL DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240008899 titled 'HANDHELD GYNECOLOGICAL DEVICE
Simplified Explanation
The invention is a handheld gynecological device designed for cervix handling. It consists of a body member that has a vacuum chamber, a piston member that can be partially displaced within the vacuum chamber to create a vacuum, an actuating member, a rod member with a lumen, and a suction head. The position of the rod member is fixed relative to the body member when coupled together. The actuating member can be switched from a disconnected position, where the vacuum chamber is not connected to the rod member's lumen, to a connected position, where the vacuum chamber is fluidly connected to the rod member's lumen.
- The device is handheld and specifically designed for gynecological procedures involving the cervix.
- It includes a vacuum chamber and a piston member that can create a vacuum within the chamber.
- The rod member has a fixed position relative to the body member when coupled together.
- The actuating member can switch between a disconnected position and a connected position, allowing the vacuum chamber to be connected or disconnected from the rod member's lumen.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Gynecological procedures involving cervix handling and examination.
- Assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical conditions.
- Enhancing the precision and ease of cervix-related medical procedures.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Provides a handheld device specifically designed for cervix handling, improving the efficiency and accuracy of gynecological procedures.
- Creates a vacuum within the device, allowing for better control and manipulation of the cervix during procedures.
- The fixed position of the rod member ensures stability and consistency during use.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved accuracy and precision in cervix handling procedures.
- Enhanced control and manipulation of the cervix during gynecological examinations and treatments.
- Simplified and efficient device design for ease of use by medical professionals.
Original Abstract Submitted
the invention relates to a handheld gynecological device for cervix handling, comprising a body member defining a vacuum chamber, a piston member at least partially received in the vacuum chamber with a portion of the piston member being displaceable in the vacuum chamber from a first position to a second position for creating a vacuum in the vacuum chamber. the device further comprises an actuating member, a rod member defining a lumen and a suction head. the position of the rod member along the longitudinal axis of the body member is fixed relative to the body member when the rod member is coupled to the body member. the actuating member is coupled to the body member and/or the rod member and configured to be switched from a disconnected position, in which the vacuum chamber of the body member is fluidly disconnected from the lumen of the rod member, to a connected position, in which the vacuum chamber of the body member is fluidly connected to the lumen of the rod member.
