TONER CONTAINER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18749245 titled 'TONER CONTAINER

The toner container described in the patent application consists of a bag with an opening, a discharge member with a receiving port aligned with the bag for toner intake, and a discharge port for toner discharge, along with a shutting member to close the discharge port.

  • The receiving port is positioned on the inner side of the opening in a direction perpendicular to the alignment with the bag, and it has an area of at least 25 mm.
  • The discharge member includes a fixing portion for the opening and a surface between the fixing portion and the receiving port.
  • The filling amount of toner allowed in the container is less than or equal to 0.547 g/cm³ with respect to the total volume.

Potential Applications: - This toner container design could be used in various printing devices and copiers. - It may find applications in industrial settings where toner cartridges are used.

Problems Solved: - The design ensures efficient and controlled toner dispensing. - It prevents overfilling of toner, which can lead to spillage and waste.

Benefits: - Improved toner containment and dispensing efficiency. - Reduced risk of toner wastage and spillage.

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Toner Container Design for Printing Devices This technology could be utilized in the manufacturing of toner cartridges for printers and copiers, enhancing their performance and reducing maintenance costs.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the design of this toner container improve toner containment and dispensing efficiency? - The design ensures precise toner intake and controlled dispensing, reducing the risk of wastage and spillage.

2. What are the potential cost-saving benefits of using this innovative toner container design? - By preventing overfilling and spillage, this design can help reduce toner wastage and maintenance costs for printing devices.

Original Abstract Submitted

A toner container includes: a bag having an opening; a discharge member having a receiving port aligned with the bag in a first direction and for receiving toner, and a discharge port for discharging the toner; and a shutting member shutting the discharge port. The receiving port is provided on an inner side with respect to the opening in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The receiving port is open in the first direction and has an area greater than or equal to 25 mm. The discharge member has a fixing portion to which the opening is fixed, and a surface between the fixing portion and the receiving port. A filling amount [g] of the toner with respect to a total volume [cm] up to which the toner in the toner container is allowed to be contained is less than or equal to 0.547 [g/cm].
