CAMERA MODULE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18734802 titled 'CAMERA MODULE
The camera module described in the patent application consists of a housing, multiple movable lens modules with at least one lens each, and a stopper to prevent contact between the lens modules.
- The housing contains the movable lens modules that can move in the optical axis direction.
- Each movable lens module includes at least one lens for capturing images.
- The stopper, mounted on the housing, has an extension portion that faces one movable lens module to prevent contact between them.
- A damping member is placed on the extension portion to further prevent contact between the lens modules.
Potential Applications: This technology can be used in various camera systems, such as smartphones, digital cameras, surveillance cameras, and medical imaging devices.
Problems Solved: The stopper prevents damage that could occur from the movable lens modules coming into contact with each other, ensuring the proper functioning of the camera module.
Benefits: Enhanced durability and longevity of the camera module, improved image quality due to the prevention of lens damage, and increased reliability in capturing images.
Commercial Applications: This technology can be valuable for camera manufacturers looking to improve the quality and durability of their products, potentially leading to increased sales and customer satisfaction.
Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include patents or research on camera module designs that aim to prevent damage to lens components.
Frequently Updated Research: Researchers may be exploring advancements in materials and designs for stoppers and damping members to further enhance the protection of movable lens modules in camera systems.
Questions about Camera Module Stopper Technology: 1. How does the stopper prevent contact between movable lens modules? The stopper includes an extension portion with a damping member that faces one lens module to prevent contact between them.
2. What are the potential applications of this camera module technology? This technology can be used in various camera systems, including smartphones, digital cameras, surveillance cameras, and medical imaging devices.
Original Abstract Submitted
A camera module includes a housing; a plurality of movable lens modules disposed in an internal space of the housing and configured to be movable in an optical axis direction, each of the plurality of movable lens modules comprising at least one lens; and a stopper configured to prevent contact between at least two of the plurality of movable lens modules, wherein the stopper includes a frame mounted on the housing; an extension portion extending from the frame into the internal space of the housing to face a side of one movable lens module of the plurality of movable lens modules in the optical axis direction; and a damping member disposed on the extension portion to face the side of the one movable lens module in the optical axis direction.
