ONBOARD CONTROL APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18700058 titled 'ONBOARD CONTROL APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an onboard control apparatus that includes a duty ratio control unit, a current control unit, and a switching unit. The duty ratio control unit controls the duty ratio of a switch, the current control unit adjusts the current supplied to a resistor portion, and the switching unit switches between duty ratio control and current control based on certain conditions.

  • The duty ratio control unit regulates the on/off cycle of a switch at a predetermined ratio.
  • The current control unit adjusts the current supplied to the resistor portion while maintaining a continuous flow of current.
  • The switching unit transitions between duty ratio control and current control when specific conditions are met.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Precise duty ratio control of the switch.
  • Continuous adjustment of current supplied to the resistor portion.
  • Seamless transition between duty ratio control and current control.

Potential Applications: This technology could be applied in various electronic systems requiring precise control of duty ratios and current levels, such as power converters, motor control systems, and LED drivers.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the need for accurate and efficient control of duty ratios and current levels in onboard electronic systems.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced performance and efficiency in electronic systems.
  • Improved reliability and stability of onboard control apparatus.
  • Simplified control mechanisms for complex electronic systems.

Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include power electronics, automotive systems, renewable energy systems, and industrial automation.

Questions about Onboard Control Apparatus: 1. How does the duty ratio control unit impact the overall performance of the onboard control apparatus? 2. What are the specific conditions that trigger the switching between duty ratio control and current control?

Original Abstract Submitted

An onboard control apparatus includes a duty ratio control unit, a current control unit, and a switching unit. The duty ratio control unit performs duty ratio control so as to turn a switch on and off at a set duty ratio. The current control unit performs current control so as to change the current to be supplied to the resistor portion while continuously supplying the current to the resistor portion. The switching unit switches, when a switching condition is established while the duty ratio control unit is performing the duty ratio control, to the current control by the current control unit.
