On Multiple Grants using Single Downlink Control Information - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18699095 titled 'On Multiple Grants using Single Downlink Control Information

The abstract describes a method performed in a radio access node of a wireless network to schedule downlink and/or uplink control channel allocations, dynamic shared channel allocations, semi-persistent scheduling allocations, configured grant allocations, and shared channel allocations multiplexed with control information.

  • Determines scheduling for various control and data channel allocations in a wireless network.
  • Transmits a single downlink control information (DCI) to a user equipment (UE) for scheduling control and data channel allocations.
  • Includes scheduling for dynamic shared channel allocations, semi-persistent scheduling allocations, configured grant allocations, and shared channel allocations.
  • Multiplexes control information with downlink and/or uplink shared channel allocations.
  • Enhances efficiency and flexibility in resource allocation in wireless networks.

Potential Applications: - 5G and beyond wireless networks - Mobile communication systems - Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved: - Efficient scheduling of control and data channel allocations - Flexibility in resource allocation - Enhanced communication system performance

Benefits: - Improved network efficiency - Enhanced user experience - Optimal resource utilization

Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced Resource Allocation Method for Wireless Networks" This technology can be applied in telecommunications companies, network equipment manufacturers, and IoT device manufacturers to enhance network performance and user experience.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method improve resource allocation efficiency in wireless networks? 2. What are the key advantages of multiplexing control information with shared channel allocations in this context?

Original Abstract Submitted

A method performed in a radio access node of a wireless network is provided that includes determining () for a single downlink control information, DCI, to schedule one or more downlink, DL, and/or uplink, UL, control channel allocations, and/or one or more of dynamic DL shared channel allocations and/or one or more DL semi-persistent scheduling, SPS, allocations and/or one or more dynamic UL shared channel allocations, and/or one or more UL configured grant, CG, allocations, and/or one or more DL and/or UL shared channel allocations comprising or multiplexed with control information. The method further includes transmitting () the single DCI to a user equipment, UE, to schedule the one or more UL and/or DL control channel allocations and the one or more of DL dynamic shared channel allocations and/or DL SPS and/or UL dynamic shared channel allocations and/or UL CG allocations and/or DL and/or UL shared channel allocations.
