IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18678950 titled 'IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM

The abstract describes an image forming system that includes an image forming unit, a varnish coating unit, a reception unit, and a control unit. The image forming unit creates images on different types of recording media, including those with and without a coated layer. The varnish coating unit applies varnish to the recording medium after the image is formed. The reception unit receives printing jobs from users, and the control unit manages the varnish coating unit's operations.

  • Image forming system with varnish coating capabilities
  • Ability to work with different types of recording media
  • Control unit manages varnish coating process based on printing job requirements
  • Prevents varnish coating on recording media without a coated layer
  • Enhances image quality and durability of printed materials

Potential Applications: - Printing industry for high-quality image production - Marketing and advertising for promotional materials - Publishing for book covers and magazines

Problems Solved: - Ensures proper varnish coating on appropriate recording media - Improves image quality and longevity - Streamlines printing processes for efficiency

Questions about Image Forming Systems with Varnish Coating: 1. How does the varnish coating process enhance the quality of printed images? The varnish coating adds a protective layer that improves image durability, color vibrancy, and overall appearance.

2. What are the key factors to consider when selecting the appropriate varnish coating for different types of recording media? The type of recording media, desired finish (e.g., glossy or matte), and environmental factors (e.g., humidity and temperature) play a crucial role in choosing the right varnish coating for optimal results.

Original Abstract Submitted

An image forming system includes an image forming unit, a varnish coating unit, a reception unit, and a control unit. The image forming unit executes an image forming process of forming an image on types of recording media including a first type of recording medium with a coated layer and a second type of recording medium without a coated layer. The varnish coating unit executes a varnish coating process of varnish coating a recording medium on which an image is formed by the image forming unit. The reception unit receives a printing job from a user. The control unit controls the varnish coating unit. When the printing job received by the reception unit is a printing job for executing the varnish coating process on the second type of recording medium, the control unit controls the varnish coating unit to prevent the varnish coating unit from executing the varnish coating process.
