Electronic device - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18670702 titled 'Electronic device

The patent application describes a display device with an active region and a non-active region, including layers of electrodes and a light-emitting layer on a substrate, as well as dams in the non-active region.

  • The display device consists of a substrate layer, bottom electrode layer, light-emitting layer, and top electrode layer in the active region.
  • A portion of these layers forms a light-emitting unit.
  • Dams are present in the non-active region, closer to the substrate layer than the top electrode layer.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in the manufacturing of high-quality display screens for electronic devices. - It may find applications in the development of advanced lighting systems.

Problems Solved: - Provides a solution for improving the efficiency and performance of display devices. - Helps in reducing light leakage and enhancing the overall display quality.

Benefits: - Enhanced display quality and efficiency. - Improved durability and longevity of display devices.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Display Technology for Enhanced Visual Experience This technology can be utilized in the production of smartphones, tablets, televisions, and other electronic devices with display screens. It can also be integrated into lighting systems for commercial and residential use, providing energy-efficient and high-quality lighting solutions.

Questions about Display Device Technology: 1. How does the presence of dams in the non-active region impact the overall performance of the display device?

  - The dams help in reducing light leakage and improving the display quality by maintaining a proper distance between the layers.

2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this technology on a large scale?

  - Some challenges may include optimizing the manufacturing process and ensuring uniformity in the display performance across different devices.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device having an active region and a non-active region, includes a substrate layer having a surface, a bottom electrode layer, a light-emitting layer and a top electrode layer stacked sequentially on the surface of the substrate layer in the active region, and a plurality of first dams. A portion of the bottom electrode layer, a portion of the light-emitting layer and a portion of the top electrode layer are served as a light-emitting unit. The plurality of first dams is disposed on the surface of the substrate layer in the non-active region, wherein a distance between a topmost surface of at least one of the plurality of first dams and the surface of the substrate layer is less than a distance between a topmost surface of the top electrode layer and the surface of the substrate layer.
