TOUCH DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18652114 titled 'TOUCH DISPLAY DEVICE

The touch display device described in the patent application includes light emitting elements, an encapsulation layer, first touch electrodes, and second touch electrodes.

  • The first touch electrodes may have protrusions extending in one direction, while the second touch electrodes may have protrusions extending in the opposite direction.
  • The lengths of the protrusions on the first touch electrodes may vary from each other in the direction they extend.
  • This design allows for improved touch sensitivity and accuracy on the display.

Potential Applications:

  • This technology can be used in smartphones, tablets, and other touch screen devices.
  • It can also be applied in interactive kiosks, digital signage, and gaming consoles.

Problems Solved:

  • Enhances touch sensitivity and accuracy on touch display devices.
  • Improves user experience with touch interactions on screens.

Benefits:

  • Increased precision in touch input.
  • Enhanced user experience with touch displays.
  • Improved functionality of touch screen devices.

Commercial Applications:

  • This technology can be utilized by manufacturers of smartphones, tablets, and other touch screen devices to enhance the performance of their products.
  • It can also be integrated into interactive kiosks and digital signage systems to provide a more responsive user interface.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the design of the touch electrodes improve touch sensitivity on the display? 2. What are the potential implications of this technology for the consumer electronics industry?

Original Abstract Submitted

A touch display device includes a plurality of light emitting elements arranged on a substrate, an encapsulation layer arranged on the light emitting elements, a plurality of first touch electrodes arranged on the encapsulation layer, and a plurality of second touch electrodes arranged on the encapsulation layer and spaced apart from and adjacent to the first touch electrodes. At least one of the first touch electrodes may include a plurality of first protrusions extending in a first direction. At least one of the second touch electrodes may include a plurality of second protrusions extending in a second direction opposite the first direction. One of the first protrusions and another of the first protrusions adjacent to the one of the first protrusions may have different lengths from each other in the first direction.
