APPLICATION TIME FOR NON-SERVING CELL REFERENCE SIGNAL UPDATE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18651336 titled 'APPLICATION TIME FOR NON-SERVING CELL REFERENCE SIGNAL UPDATE

Simplified Explanation:

The patent application relates to wireless communication, where a user equipment (UE) can receive an update associated with a non-serving cell reference signal from a base station. The UE then selects an application time duration based on whether the non-serving cell reference signal has been tracked or not, and applies the update after the selected duration.

  • Key Features and Innovation:
   - User equipment (UE) receiving updates from a base station related to non-serving cell reference signals.
   - Selection of application time duration based on tracking status of the non-serving cell reference signal.
   - Application of updates after the selected time duration.
  • Potential Applications:
   - Enhancing wireless communication efficiency.
   - Improving network performance.
   - Optimizing resource allocation in cellular networks.
  • Problems Solved:
   - Efficient handling of non-serving cell reference signal updates.
   - Streamlining application time duration selection process.
   - Enhancing overall network performance.
  • Benefits:
   - Improved user experience in wireless communication.
   - Enhanced network reliability and efficiency.
   - Optimal resource utilization in cellular networks.
  • Commercial Applications:
   - Telecom companies for improving network performance.
   - Mobile device manufacturers for enhancing user experience.
   - Network infrastructure providers for optimizing resource allocation.
  • Prior Art:
   - Readers can explore prior patents related to wireless communication, cell reference signals, and network optimization.
  • Frequently Updated Research:

Questions about Wireless Communication Technology: 1. What are the key factors influencing the selection of application time duration for updates in wireless communication technology?

  - The selection of the application time duration is based on whether the non-serving cell reference signal has been tracked by the user equipment (UE) or not, to ensure efficient application of updates.

2. How does the optimization of resource allocation in cellular networks impact overall network performance?

  - Optimizing resource allocation in cellular networks leads to improved network efficiency, reliability, and user experience by ensuring optimal utilization of network resources.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of an update associated with a non-serving cell reference signal. The UE may select a first application time duration based at least in part on a determination that the non-serving cell reference signal has been tracked by the UE or a second application time duration based at least in part on a determination that the non-serving cell reference signal has not been tracked by the UE, resulting in a selected application time duration. The UE may apply the update associated with the non-serving cell reference signal after the selected application time duration. Numerous other aspects are described.
