COMMUNICATION METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18634179 titled 'COMMUNICATION METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT

Simplified Explanation:

The patent application describes a communication method in a mobile communication system for providing a multicast broadcast service. It involves configuring a multicast traffic channel based on received information and determining the type of session transmitted on the channel.

  • Receiving configuration information from a base station
  • Configuring a multicast traffic channel associated with an MBS radio bearer
  • Determining the type of session (multicast or broadcast) transmitted on the channel

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in mobile communication systems to efficiently provide multicast broadcast services to users.

Problems Solved: - Efficient configuration of multicast traffic channels - Accurate determination of session types for optimized service delivery

Benefits: - Enhanced delivery of multicast broadcast services - Improved resource utilization in mobile communication systems

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Multicast Broadcast Services in Mobile Communication Systems" This technology can be utilized by mobile network operators to offer improved multicast broadcast services, leading to enhanced user experience and potentially attracting more subscribers.

Prior Art: Readers interested in prior art related to this technology can explore research papers, patents, and industry publications in the field of mobile communication systems and multicast broadcast services.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers in the field of mobile communication systems are constantly exploring ways to enhance multicast broadcast services and optimize resource allocation for improved user experience.

Questions about Multicast Broadcast Services in Mobile Communication Systems: 1. How does this technology improve the efficiency of multicast broadcast services? 2. What are the key factors to consider when configuring multicast traffic channels in mobile communication systems?

Original Abstract Submitted

A communication method is a method performed by a user equipment in a mobile communication system for providing a multicast broadcast service (MBS). The communication method includes receiving, from a base station, configuration information by which a multicast traffic channel (MTCH) associated with an MBS radio bearer (MRB) is configured, and determining, based on the configuration information, whether a type of a session transmitted on the MTCH is a multicast session or a broadcast session.
