ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PERSISTENCE OF VEHICLE BLACK BOX DATA - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18627233 titled 'ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PERSISTENCE OF VEHICLE BLACK BOX DATA

The disclosed embodiments aim to enhance the persistence of pre-accident data in vehicles by utilizing machine learning models and black box devices.

  • Receiving events broadcast over a vehicle bus
  • Classifying events using a machine learning model to indicate an imminent collision
  • Copying data from a cyclic buffer of a black box device into long-term storage in response to the classification

Potential Applications: - Automotive industry for improving safety measures - Insurance companies for accurate accident reconstruction - Law enforcement for investigating accidents

Problems Solved: - Ensuring critical pre-accident data is preserved - Enhancing accident investigation accuracy - Improving overall vehicle safety measures

Benefits: - Increased data persistence for post-accident analysis - Enhanced accuracy in determining accident causes - Improved safety features in vehicles

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Vehicle Data Persistence Technology for Improved Safety Measures" This technology can be utilized by automotive manufacturers, insurance companies, and law enforcement agencies to enhance safety measures, improve accident investigation accuracy, and ensure critical data preservation.

Questions about Enhanced Vehicle Data Persistence Technology: 1. How does this technology impact overall vehicle safety measures? - This technology enhances safety measures by ensuring critical pre-accident data is preserved for accurate accident reconstruction and investigation. 2. What are the potential commercial applications of this technology? - The potential commercial applications include use by automotive manufacturers, insurance companies, and law enforcement agencies for improving safety measures and accident investigation accuracy.

Original Abstract Submitted

The disclosed embodiments are directed to improving the persistence of pre-accident data in vehicles. In one embodiment a method is disclosed comprising receiving events broadcast over a vehicle bus; classifying the events using a machine learning model, the classifying comprising indicating that a collision is imminent; and copying data from a cyclic buffer of a black box device into a long-term storage device in response to the classifying.
