DISPLAY APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18617301 titled 'DISPLAY APPARATUS

The patent application describes a display apparatus with inorganic light-emitting elements controlled by a wireless module.

  • The display apparatus includes a rotating plate with bar-shaped inorganic light-emitting elements extending radially.
  • A wireless module in the housing transmits power and data to control the light-emitting elements.
  • The wireless module consists of a first coil and a second coil generating an induced current.
  • The technology allows for wireless control and power transmission to the light-emitting elements.

Potential Applications: - This technology could be used in advertising displays, digital signage, or decorative lighting. - It may also have applications in entertainment venues, museums, or architectural lighting.

Problems Solved: - Eliminates the need for wired connections to control the light-emitting elements. - Simplifies installation and maintenance of display systems.

Benefits: - Wireless control allows for more flexibility in display design. - Reduced installation complexity and maintenance costs. - Improved reliability and durability compared to wired systems.

Commercial Applications: - This technology could be highly valuable in the digital signage industry, event production, and architectural lighting design.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the wireless module transmit power and data to control the inorganic light-emitting elements? - The wireless module uses coils to generate an induced current for power and data transmission.

2. What are the potential limitations of using inorganic light-emitting elements in display applications? - Inorganic light-emitting elements may have limitations in terms of color range and brightness compared to organic LEDs.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display apparatus includes a housing including a base; a motor coupled to the base; a rotating plate on one side of the base; a substrate on the rotating plate; inorganic light-emitting elements on the substrate, the inorganic light-emitting elements being bar shaped and extending in a radial direction from a center of the rotating plate; and a wireless module provided in the housing, the wireless module being configured to transmit and receive power and data to control the inorganic light-emitting elements, wherein the wireless module includes: a first coil; and a second coil inside the first coil or surrounding the first coil, the second coil being configured to generate an induced current due to current flowing in the first coil.
