IMAGE SCANNING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18612782 titled 'IMAGE SCANNING DEVICE

The abstract describes an image scanning device that includes a transport section for moving a document along a path, an image scanning unit for scanning the document, and a first conductive section that connects with the image scanning unit. The scanning unit has a scanning section, a glass plate, and a second conductive section that connects with the glass plate. The scanning unit moves along a direction perpendicular to the transport path, with the first conductive section following this movement to maintain electrical conductivity with the glass plate.

  • The image scanning device includes a transport section, an image scanning unit, and a first conductive section.
  • The scanning unit has a scanning section, a glass plate, and a second conductive section.
  • The device allows for scanning of documents as they are transported along a path.
  • The first conductive section maintains electrical conductivity with the glass plate as the scanning unit moves.
  • The design ensures accurate and efficient scanning of images from documents.

Potential Applications: - Document scanning and digitization - Image processing and analysis - Quality control in printing and manufacturing industries

Questions about Image Scanning Device: 1. How does the first conductive section maintain electrical conductivity with the glass plate during scanning? 2. What are the potential advantages of using this image scanning device in a manufacturing environment?

Original Abstract Submitted

An image scanning device includes a transport section that transports a document along a transport path; an image scanning unit that is configured to scan an image from the document transported by the transport section; and a first conductive section that is configured to electrically conduct with the image scanning unit. The image scanning unit has a scanning section that is configured to scan the image from the document transported by the transport section, a glass plate that is configured to contact with the document between the scanning section and the transport path, and a second conductive section that is configured to electrically conduct with the glass plate. The image scanning unit is configured to displace along a displacement direction that intersects the transport path. The first conductive section is configured to follow the displacement of the image scanning unit and to maintain electrical conductivity with the glass plate by maintaining a state where the first conductive section is in contact with the second conductive section by following the displacement of the image scanning unit.
