A method for a user equipment (UE) to report CSI including one or more sub-reports includes receiving first information related to reception of one or more non-zero power CSI reference signals (NZP CSI-RSs) on a cell, second information related to a first number of sub-configurations corresponding to respective CSI sub-reports, third information indicating a second number of sub-configurations from the first number of sub-configurations corresponding to a second number of CSI sub-reports, respectively, fourth information related to an uplink channel for transmitting the CSI report, and the one or more NZP CSI-RSs based on the first information. The method further includes determining the second number of CSI sub-reports based on the second and third information and the one or more NZP CSI-RSs and transmitting the uplink channel with the CSI report including the second number of CSI sub-reports.
