IMAGE READING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18611363 titled 'IMAGE READING DEVICE

The abstract describes an image reading device that includes a reading section, a light transmitting member, and an airflow generation section. The reading section reads an image of a medium transported in a transport direction. The light transmitting member is positioned between the transport path and the reading section, while the airflow generation section is located on the opposite side of the light transmitting member from the reading section.

  • The device is designed to read images of mediums being transported.
  • A light transmitting member is placed between the transport path and the reading section.
  • An airflow generation section, with a hole section facing the light transmitting member, generates airflow towards the light transmitting member.

Potential Applications: - Document scanning devices - Image processing systems - Quality control inspection machines

Problems Solved: - Efficient image reading of transported mediums - Minimization of dust and debris interference during reading

Benefits: - Improved image quality - Enhanced reading accuracy - Reduced maintenance needs due to minimized dust interference

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Image Reading Device for Enhanced Document Scanning This technology can be utilized in industries such as logistics, manufacturing, and healthcare for efficient document scanning and image processing applications. The market implications include increased productivity and improved quality control processes.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the device handle different sizes and types of mediums during image reading? The device is designed to accommodate various mediums by adjusting the transport path and reading settings accordingly.

2. What are the potential maintenance requirements for the airflow generation section? Regular cleaning and maintenance of the airflow generation section may be necessary to ensure optimal performance and airflow generation.

Original Abstract Submitted

A image reading device includes a reading section configured to read an image of a medium transported in a transport direction; a light transmitting member arranged between a transport path on which the medium is transported and the reading section; and an airflow generation section which is arranged on an opposite side of the light transmitting member from the reading section, which includes a hole section positioned facing the light transmitting member, and which is configured to generate airflow from the hole section toward the light transmitting member.
