BATTERY PACK AND ELECTRIC VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18610319 titled 'BATTERY PACK AND ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation:

This patent application describes a battery pack for an electric vehicle that includes a housing and multiple cells. The total volume of the cells and the battery pack must be at least 55% of the total volume of the battery pack. The cells are arranged in a specific orientation within the pack, with a length direction along one axis and the cells themselves arranged along a perpendicular axis. Each cell has a body length between 400-2500 mm.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Battery pack design optimized for electric vehicles
  • Specific arrangement of cells to maximize space efficiency
  • Cells with body lengths ranging from 400-2500 mm

Potential Applications:

  • Electric vehicles
  • Energy storage systems
  • Portable electronics

Problems Solved:

  • Efficient use of space in battery packs
  • Improved performance of electric vehicles
  • Enhanced energy storage capabilities

Benefits:

  • Increased energy efficiency
  • Longer battery life
  • Reduced size and weight of battery packs

Commercial Applications: Electric Vehicle Battery Technology: Revolutionizing the way electric vehicles are powered and increasing their range and efficiency.

Questions about Electric Vehicle Battery Technology: 1. How does the specific arrangement of cells in the battery pack contribute to its efficiency? 2. What are the potential implications of this technology on the electric vehicle market?

Original Abstract Submitted

A battery pack and an electric vehicle are provided. The battery pack includes a housing; and a plurality of cells, provided in the housing, wherein the sum V1 of the volumes of the plurality of cells and the volume V2 of the battery pack satisfy V1/V2≥55%. The battery pack has a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to each other. A length direction of the cell is arranged along the first direction of the battery pack, and the plurality of cells are arranged along the second direction of the battery pack. The cell comprises a cell body, and the length of the cell body is 400-2500 mm.
