IMAGE READING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18609119 titled 'IMAGE READING DEVICE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a device with a transport section for moving a document, a reading section for scanning an image of the document, and a rotation member with different colored background sections that can be rotated to change the background of the reading section.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Device with transport section, reading section, and rotation member
  • Rotation member has different colored background sections
  • Background sections can be rotated to change the background of the reading section

Potential Applications: This technology could be used in scanning devices, photocopiers, and printers to enhance the readability of scanned documents.

Problems Solved: This technology solves the problem of poor contrast between documents and background, making it easier to read scanned images.

Benefits:

  • Improved readability of scanned documents
  • Enhanced contrast for better image quality
  • Versatile application in scanning and printing devices

Commercial Applications: This technology could be valuable for companies producing scanning devices, photocopiers, and printers, as it enhances the quality of scanned documents, potentially increasing customer satisfaction and market competitiveness.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the rotation member change the background of the reading section? 2. What are the potential color combinations for the background sections on the rotation member?

Frequently Updated Research: There may be ongoing research in the field of document scanning technologies to improve image quality and readability. Researchers may be exploring different color combinations for background sections to optimize contrast in scanned documents.

Original Abstract Submitted

It includes a transport section configured to transport a document, a reading section configured to read an image of the document transported in a transport direction by the transport section, and a rotation member that is provided with, on a peripheral surface, at least two background sections having colors different in brightness from each other, that is provided at a position facing the reading section, and that, by rotating, changes a position of the background section with respect to a reading position of the reading section, wherein the rotation member is separable from the reading section.
