BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION MEASUREMENT APPARATUS AND BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION MEASUREMENT SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18607425 titled 'BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION MEASUREMENT APPARATUS AND BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

The abstract describes a biological information measurement apparatus that includes a light emitting unit, a light receiving unit, a case, and a light transmission member.

  • The light emitting unit emits laser light.
  • The light receiving unit receives scattered light generated when the laser light enters a living body.
  • The case accommodates the light emitting unit and the light receiving unit.
  • The light transmission member is attached to the case and faces the living body, with a first surface for laser light entry and a second surface for light transmission.
  • The apparatus ensures that the diameter of the laser light along the first axis is smaller than the diameter along the second axis.

Potential Applications: - Medical diagnostics - Biological research - Non-invasive monitoring

Problems Solved: - Accurate measurement of biological information - Minimally invasive data collection

Benefits: - Precise and reliable data collection - Reduced risk for patients - Improved understanding of biological processes

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Biological Information Measurement Apparatus for Medical Diagnostics This technology can be used in medical facilities, research laboratories, and biotech companies for various applications such as disease diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and physiological research.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the apparatus ensure accurate measurement of biological information? 2. What are the potential limitations of using laser light for data collection in living organisms?

Original Abstract Submitted

A biological information measurement apparatus includes: a light emitting unit configured to emit laser light; a light receiving unit configured to receive scattered light generated when the laser light enters the living body; a case accommodating the light emitting unit and the light receiving unit; and a light transmission member attached to the case at a position facing the living body. The light transmission member has a first surface where the laser light enters and a second surface where the laser light entering the first surface enters, and D1<D2, in which a parallel axis parallel to an intersection line between the first surface and an entering surface on which the light emitting unit and the light receiving unit are disposed is defined as a first axis, an orthogonal axis orthogonal to the first axis on the first surface is defined as a second axis, D1 is a first diameter of the laser light along the first axis, and D2 is a second diameter of the laser light along the second axis.
