PLEDGETED TISSUE ANCHOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18604943 titled 'PLEDGETED TISSUE ANCHOR
The anchoring system described in the patent application involves two anchoring devices, one with a plug and the other with an anchor, designed to enter a tissue wall from the proximal side and exit on the distal side.
- The first plug exits the tissue wall at a specific point on the distal side, while the first anchor exits at another point on the distal side and attaches to the plug outside the tissue wall.
- The plug covers part of the exit point of the anchor on the distal side of the tissue wall, providing a secure anchoring mechanism.
- This system allows for effective anchoring of devices or structures to tissue walls in a minimally invasive manner.
- The design ensures stability and reliability in anchoring applications, enhancing overall performance and safety.
Potential Applications: - Medical devices anchoring to tissue walls - Surgical procedures requiring secure fixation - Biomedical research involving tissue manipulation
Problems Solved: - Ensures stable anchoring in tissue walls - Minimizes tissue damage during anchoring procedures - Provides a reliable and secure attachment mechanism
Benefits: - Minimally invasive anchoring solution - Enhanced stability and reliability - Improved safety in surgical and medical procedures
Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Tissue Anchoring System for Medical Devices This technology can be utilized in various medical and surgical settings, providing a reliable and secure method for anchoring devices to tissue walls. The market implications include improved surgical outcomes, reduced complications, and enhanced patient safety.
Prior Art: Readers can explore prior research on tissue anchoring systems in medical literature, surgical journals, and patent databases to understand the evolution of similar technologies.
Frequently Updated Research: Researchers are constantly exploring new materials and designs for tissue anchoring systems to enhance performance and safety in medical applications.
Questions about the Innovative Tissue Anchoring System: 1. How does this anchoring system compare to traditional methods of tissue fixation? - The system offers a minimally invasive approach with enhanced stability compared to traditional methods. 2. What are the potential risks associated with using this anchoring system in medical procedures? - The risks may include tissue damage, displacement of the anchor, or infection, which should be carefully considered and managed during implementation.
Original Abstract Submitted
An anchoring system comprises a first anchoring device comprising a first plug and a second anchoring device comprising a first anchor, wherein each of the first anchoring device and the second anchoring device is configured to enter a tissue wall at a proximal side of the tissue wall, the first plug is configured to exit the tissue wall at a first point of a distal side of the tissue wall, the first anchor is configured to exit the tissue wall at a second point of the distal side of the tissue wall and attach to the first plug outside of the distal side of the tissue wall at a first entry point of the first plug, and the first plug is configured to at least partially cover the second point of the distal side of the tissue wall.
