Scheduling Physical Downlink Shared Channel Feedback - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18604867 titled 'Scheduling Physical Downlink Shared Channel Feedback

Simplified Explanation

A wireless device receives instructions from a base station regarding when to transmit feedback for a data transmission. The device follows these instructions to ensure efficient communication.

  • The wireless device receives a first set of instructions indicating it should not transmit feedback until it receives a second set of instructions.
  • The second set of instructions specifies the timing for transmitting feedback and the data transmission group.
  • Once the wireless device receives the second set of instructions, it transmits feedback at the specified time for the indicated data transmission group.

Original Abstract Submitted

A wireless device may receive from a base station a first downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission. The first DCI may indicate that the wireless device is not to transmit feedback for the PDSCH transmission before receiving a second DCI and a PDSCH group index. The second DCI may indicate a time slot for transmitting feedback and the PDSCH group index. In response to the wireless device receiving the second DCI and based on the second DCI indicating feedback for the same PDSCH group index as the first DCI, the wireless may transmit to the base station, in the time slot indicated, the feedback for the PDSCH transmission.
