ANCHORS FOR LIVE STREAMS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18601941 titled 'ANCHORS FOR LIVE STREAMS

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an application on a viewer client device that allows users to access a live stream by selecting a specific starting point within the stream.

  • Users can input a request to access a live stream.
  • The application presents information for users to choose a specific starting point within the stream.
  • Users can indicate the first anchor, or timestamp, of the live stream.
  • The application then displays the live stream starting from the chosen timestamp.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • User-friendly interface for accessing live streams.
  • Ability to select a specific starting point within a live stream.
  • Seamless display of live stream content based on user input.

Potential Applications: This technology could be used in various streaming platforms, video-on-demand services, and live event broadcasts.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the challenge of users wanting to start watching a live stream from a specific point rather than from the beginning.

Benefits:

Original Abstract Submitted

An application on a viewer client device receives a user input to access a live stream, sends a request to access the live stream, presents information allowing a user to indicate a first anchor of a plurality of anchors of the live stream, the first anchor corresponding to a timestamp for starting a portion of the live stream, receives user input identifying the live stream and user input indicating the first anchor of the live stream, and displays the live stream beginning at the timestamp corresponding to the first anchor of the live stream.
