A method performed by a reception device of a communication system is provided. The method includes obtaining, by the receiving device, a first sequence on the basis of a received signal, comparing, by the receiving device, the length of the first sequence with an operation unit, when the length of the first sequence is smaller than the operation unit, generating, by the receiving device, a second sequence on the basis of the first sequence, and performing, by the receiving device, decoding on the basis of the second sequence, wherein the length of the second sequence is greater than or equal to the operation unit.
