INDOOR UNIT OF AN AIR CONDITIONER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18597731 titled 'INDOOR UNIT OF AN AIR CONDITIONER

The abstract describes an air conditioner with a fan housing assembly that moves in the front-rear direction by an actuator, allowing the fan housing assembly to pass through a front outlet on a door assembly to project conditioned air directly to a long-distance target region.

  • The fan housing assembly moves to a projected state, protruding further to the front than the door assembly's front surface, minimizing interference between discharged air and the door assembly.
  • A steering grill protrudes outside the door assembly in the projected state, reducing flow loss of discharged air.
  • The configuration enables direct air flow to a long-distance target region, improving efficiency and effectiveness of air conditioning.

Potential Applications: - HVAC systems in large spaces such as warehouses, factories, or gymnasiums. - Climate control in commercial buildings with high ceilings or open floor plans.

Problems Solved: - Minimization of interference between discharged air and door assemblies. - Reduction of flow loss of discharged air. - Efficient delivery of conditioned air to long-distance target regions.

Benefits: - Improved air conditioning efficiency. - Enhanced air distribution to distant areas. - Minimized energy consumption.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Air Conditioning System for Large Spaces This technology can be utilized in industrial, commercial, and residential settings to provide efficient and effective air conditioning solutions for large areas.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the fan housing assembly move to project conditioned air to a long-distance target region? The fan housing assembly moves in the front-rear direction by the operation of an actuator, passing through a front outlet on a door assembly to project conditioned air directly.

2. What are the benefits of the steering grill protruding outside the door assembly in the projected state? The steering grill reduces flow loss of discharged air, improving the efficiency of air distribution to long-distance target regions.

Original Abstract Submitted

An air conditioner may provide a fan housing assembly that moves in the front-rear direction by the operation of an actuator, and the fan housing assembly moves so as to pass through a front outlet arranged on a door assembly to be in a projected state, and the front end of the fan housing assembly protrudes further to the front than the front surface of the door assembly; and through the projected state, may provide conditioned air by a direct air flow to a long-distance target region. The configuration may enable the minimization of interference between the discharged air and the door assembly, and the minimization of flow loss of the discharged air since, when the fan housing assembly is in the projected state, a steering grill is in a state of protruding to the outside of the door assembly by passing through the front outlet.
