VEHICLE DATA GENERATION SERVER AND VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18597718 titled 'VEHICLE DATA GENERATION SERVER AND VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE

Simplified Explanation:

The patent application describes a system where a server collects data from multiple vehicles regarding the lane they are traveling in, the colors of the traffic signal they see, and their response to the signal. The server then generates passable pattern data for each traffic signal based on this information, indicating which lanes are passable under specific color combinations of the traffic signal.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Collection of data from vehicles on travel lanes, traffic signal colors, and vehicle behavior.
  • Generation of passable pattern data for each traffic signal based on vehicle data.
  • Indication of passable lanes under specific color combinations of the traffic signal.

Potential Applications: This technology could be used in:

  • Traffic management systems.
  • Autonomous vehicle navigation systems.
  • Road safety applications.

Problems Solved:

  • Efficient traffic signal response analysis.
  • Improved lane-specific passability information.
  • Enhanced traffic flow management.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced road safety.
  • Improved traffic flow efficiency.
  • Better decision-making for autonomous vehicles.

Commercial Applications: Title: "Smart Traffic Signal Response System" This technology could be applied in:

  • Smart city infrastructure projects.
  • Traffic control and management systems.
  • Autonomous vehicle technology development.

Prior Art: Readers can explore prior art related to traffic signal response systems, vehicle data collection, and traffic management technologies.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on research related to traffic signal optimization, vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, and smart transportation systems.

Questions about Traffic Signal Response Systems: 1. How does this technology improve traffic signal response analysis? 2. What are the potential applications of passable pattern data in traffic management systems?

Original Abstract Submitted

A vehicle data generation server acquires, from each of multiple vehicles, a data set indicating (i) a travel lane of the corresponding vehicle, (ii) a combination of activated colors of the traffic signal observed by the corresponding vehicle, and (iii) a behavior of the corresponding vehicle with respect to the combination of activated colors of the traffic signal, as a traffic signal response report. The vehicle data generation server generate, as traffic signal response policy data for each traffic signal, passable pattern data indicating, for each lane, a combination of activated colors under which passing is possible, based on the traffic signal response reports acquired from the multiple vehicles. The passable pattern data indicates, for the combination of activated colors, one or more passable lane numbers, but does not include data indicating a shape of each activated light element of the traffic signal.
