BASE STATION SUPPORTING SELF-CONFIGURATION AND SELF-OPTIMIZATION AND METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18595245 titled 'BASE STATION SUPPORTING SELF-CONFIGURATION AND SELF-OPTIMIZATION AND METHOD THEREOF

The abstract of this patent application describes a method performed by a base station in a mobile communication system to handle radio link failures reported by user equipment.

  • Self-configuration and self-optimization of a base station in a mobile communication system
  • Method to receive and analyze radio link failure reports from user equipment
  • Detecting the reason for a failure based on the reported radio link failure
  • Transmitting messages to source base stations based on the detected failure reason

Potential Applications: - Mobile communication networks - Telecommunications infrastructure - Network optimization and maintenance

Problems Solved: - Efficient handling of radio link failures in mobile communication systems - Improved network performance and reliability - Enhanced user experience through proactive issue resolution

Benefits: - Faster identification and resolution of network issues - Optimized network performance - Enhanced user satisfaction and quality of service

Commercial Applications: Title: "Self-Optimizing Base Stations for Enhanced Mobile Networks" This technology can be used by telecommunications companies to improve the performance and reliability of their mobile networks, leading to better service for customers and potentially reducing maintenance costs.

Questions about Self-Optimizing Base Stations: 1. How does self-configuration and self-optimization benefit mobile communication systems? Self-configuration and self-optimization help improve network performance, reliability, and efficiency by automating processes and proactively addressing issues. 2. What are the key advantages of using a method to handle radio link failures in a mobile communication system? Handling radio link failures efficiently can lead to faster issue resolution, improved network performance, and enhanced user experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure relates to a base station that supports self-configuration and self-optimization and a method thereof. A method performed by a target base station in a mobile communication system includes: receiving a radio link failure (RLF) report of a user equipment (UE) from a source base station or a third base station; detecting a reason for an occurrence of a failure based on the RLF report of the UE; and transmitting a message to the source base station based on the detected reason for the occurrence of the failure.
