Authentication Question Improvement Based on Vocal Confidence Processing - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18594467 titled 'Authentication Question Improvement Based on Vocal Confidence Processing

The patent application describes methods, systems, and apparatuses for enhancing computer authentication processes through vocal confidence processing.

  • Request for access to an account is received.
  • Authentication question is provided to the user.
  • Voice data indicating user's vocal utterances in response to the question is received.
  • Voice data is processed to determine a first confidence score reflecting user's confidence in answering the question.
  • Overall confidence score is adjusted based on the first confidence score.
  • Data preventing the authentication question from being used in future processes is stored if the overall confidence score meets a threshold.
  • Stored data is removed after a specified time period expires.

Potential Applications: - Enhancing security in online account access - Improving user authentication processes in various industries such as banking, healthcare, and government

Problems Solved: - Enhancing user verification processes - Increasing security measures in authentication systems

Benefits: - Improved accuracy in user authentication - Enhanced security measures to prevent unauthorized access

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhancing User Authentication Processes Through Vocal Confidence Processing" This technology can be utilized in various industries such as banking, healthcare, and government to enhance security measures in user authentication processes.

Questions about Vocal Confidence Processing: 1. How does vocal confidence processing improve user authentication processes? Vocal confidence processing enhances user authentication by analyzing the user's confidence level in their responses to authentication questions, thereby increasing the accuracy of the verification process.

2. What are the potential drawbacks of using vocal confidence processing in authentication systems? While vocal confidence processing can enhance security measures, potential drawbacks may include technical challenges in accurately measuring user confidence levels and potential privacy concerns related to voice data storage and processing.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described herein for improving computer authentication processes using vocal confidence processing. A request for access to an account may be received. An authentication question may be provided to a user. Voice data indicating one or more vocal utterances by the user in response to the authentication question may be received. The voice data may be processed, and a first confidence score that indicates a degree of confidence of the user when answering the authentication question may be determined. An overall confidence score may be modified based on the first confidence score. Based on determining that the overall confidence score satisfies a threshold, data preventing the authentication question from being used in future authentication processes may be stored. The data may be removed when a time period expires.
