INDUCTOR COMPONENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18594110 titled 'INDUCTOR COMPONENT

The abstract of the patent application describes an inductor component with an element body, inductor wiring, and columnar wirings. The inductor wiring runs parallel to the main surface of the element body, while the columnar wirings extend in a direction intersecting with the main surface. The inductor wiring includes pad portions at both ends, connected to the columnar wirings, and a wiring main body that connects the pad portions. The wiring main body has a varying cross-sectional area along its length, with a maximum point where the area is the largest and a minimum point where it is the smallest.

Original Abstract Submitted

An inductor component includes an element body, an inductor wiring, and columnar wirings. The inductor wiring extends parallel to a planar main surface in the element body. The columnar wirings extend in a direction intersecting with the main surface. The inductor wiring includes a pair of pad portions at both end portions of the inductor wiring, and to which the columnar wiring is connected, and a wiring main body which connects the pair of pad portions to each other. The wiring main body includes a maximum point where a cross-sectional area of a cross section orthogonal to a center line of the wiring main body is the maximum and a minimum point where the cross-sectional area of the cross section orthogonal to the center line is the minimum. The cross-sectional area at the maximum point is two or more times greater than the cross-sectional area at the minimum point.
