NDPA FRAME TRANSMISSION METHOD AND RELATED APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18587171 titled 'NDPA FRAME TRANSMISSION METHOD AND RELATED APPARATUS
The patent application pertains to a method and apparatus for transmitting NDPA frames in a wireless local area network supporting 802.11. The method involves generating and sending a universal NDPA frame with specific field settings to prevent misreading by earlier version STAs.
- Beamformer (e.g., AP) generates and sends a universal NDPA frame
- NDPA variant field (B0 and B1 in a sounding dialog token field) set to 00, 01, 10, or 11
- Every two octets following the sounding dialog token field include one AID 11 or one disambiguation bit
- AID 11 in station information field is less than or equal to 2007; in extended common field, AID 11 is greater than 2007
- Disambiguation bit forcibly set to 1 to prevent misreading by earlier version STAs
Potential Applications: - Enhancing wireless network performance and reliability - Improving communication efficiency in crowded network environments
Problems Solved: - Preventing misreading of NDPA frames by earlier version STAs - Ensuring accurate transmission and reception of network data
Benefits: - Increased network stability and performance - Reduced data transmission errors and packet loss
Commercial Applications: - Networking equipment manufacturers - Telecommunication companies - Internet service providers
Questions about NDPA Frame Transmission Method and Apparatus:
1. How does the method prevent misreading of NDPA frames by earlier version STAs? 2. What are the key benefits of using the universal NDPA frame transmission method in a wireless network?
Original Abstract Submitted
This application is applied to a wireless local area network supporting 802.11, to an NDPA frame transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: A beamformer (for example, an AP) generates and sends a universal NDPA frame, where an NDPA variant field (namely, B0 and B1 in a sounding dialog token field) included in the universal NDPA frame is set to any one of 00, 01, 10, and 11, and every two octets following the sounding dialog token field in the universal NDPA frame include one AID 11 or one disambiguation bit. If the AID 11 is in a station information field, the AID 11 is less than or equal to 2007; or if the AID 11 is in an extended common field, the AID 11 is greater than 2007. The disambiguation bit is forcibly set to 1. Embodiments of this application prevent an STA of an earlier version from misreading.
