Touch Panel and Touch Display Apparatus - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18585315 titled 'Touch Panel and Touch Display Apparatus

The touch panel described in the patent application consists of a base substrate with mounting holes and a touch function layer with first and second touch units. Each unit contains electrodes in the same layer, with the second touch unit's electrodes insulated from the first touch unit's electrodes. The touch function layer is hollowed out at the mounting hole positions and has a gap region between adjacent mounting holes.

  • The touch panel includes a base substrate with mounting holes and a touch function layer with first and second touch units.
  • Each touch unit has electrodes in the same layer, with the second touch unit's electrodes insulated from the first touch unit's electrodes.
  • The touch function layer is hollowed out at the mounting hole positions and has a gap region between adjacent mounting holes.
  • Electrodes in the gap region serve as gap electrodes for touch sensitivity in the first and second touch units.

Original Abstract Submitted

A touch panel includes a base substrate having at least two mounting holes, and a touch function layer including first and second touch units. Each first touch unit includes first touch electrodes located in a same layer, and each second touch unit includes second touch electrodes located in a same layer and insulated from the first touch electrodes. The touch function layer is hollowed out at positions corresponding to the at least two mounting holes and has a gap region at a position corresponding to a region between two adjacent mounting holes. In a first touch unit, first touch electrodes located in the gap region serve as a first gap electrode and a second gap electrode. In a second touch unit, second touch electrodes located in the gap region serve as a third gap electrode located between the first and second gap electrodes and a fourth gap electrode.
