LIGHT-EMITTING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18578120 titled 'LIGHT-EMITTING APPARATUS

The abstract describes a high-resolution light-emitting apparatus that emits blue light with a high blue index. The apparatus includes pixel electrodes A and B, a common electrode, EL layers A and B sandwiched between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode, and an insulating layer positioned between the common electrode and each EL layer.

  • Pixel electrodes A and B are adjacent to each other, with EL layers A and B sandwiched between them and the common electrode.
  • The insulating layer has opening portions overlapping with each pixel electrode.
  • EL layer A contains a light-emitting substance that emits blue light and is in contact with pixel electrode A.
  • EL layer B is in contact with pixel electrode B.
  • EL layer A is in contact with the common electrode in the opening portion, as is EL layer B.

Potential Applications: - High-resolution displays - Medical devices - Automotive lighting systems

Problems Solved: - Providing high-resolution blue light emission - Enhancing display quality - Improving energy efficiency

Commercial Applications: Title: High-Resolution Blue Light Emitting Apparatus for Advanced Displays This technology can be used in high-end displays for smartphones, tablets, and TVs, as well as in medical devices and automotive lighting systems. The market implications include improved display quality, energy efficiency, and enhanced user experience.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the high blue index of the emitted light impact the overall display quality? 2. What are the potential energy savings associated with using this high-resolution light-emitting apparatus?

Original Abstract Submitted

A high-resolution light-emitting apparatus that emits blue light with a high blue index is provided. The light-emitting apparatus includes a pixel electrode A; a pixel electrode B adjacent to the pixel electrode A; a common electrode; an EL layer A sandwiched between the pixel electrode A and the common electrode; an EL layer B sandwiched between the pixel electrode B and the common electrode; and an insulating layer positioned between the common electrode and each of the EL layer A and the EL layer B. The insulating layer has an opening portion A overlapping with the pixel electrode A and an opening portion B overlapping with the pixel electrode B. The EL layer A includes a light-emitting layer A. The light-emitting layer A contains a light-emitting substance A. The light-emitting substance A emits blue light. The EL layer A is in contact with the pixel electrode A. The EL layer B is in contact with the pixel electrode B. The EL layer A is in contact with the common electrode in the opening portion A. The EL layer B is in contact with the common electrode in the opening portion B.
