OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18578102 titled 'OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

The optical recording medium described in the patent application includes a first convex structure layer with first particles and a first resin material, forming a surface with multiple first convexities.

  • The optical recording medium is designed to prevent sticking between multiple optical recording mediums when they are stacked on top of each other.
  • The first convex structure layer on the optical recording medium main body helps create a surface with protruding first particles that reduce the likelihood of sticking.
  • By incorporating first particles and a first resin material in the first convex structure layer, the optical recording medium maintains its functionality while preventing unwanted adhesion.
  • The plurality of first convexities on the surface of the first convex structure layer are crucial in minimizing sticking between optical recording mediums.

Potential Applications: - Optical storage devices - Data backup systems - Archiving solutions

Problems Solved: - Sticking between stacked optical recording mediums - Damage to data due to adhesion issues

Benefits: - Enhanced reliability of optical storage systems - Improved longevity of optical recording mediums - Reduced risk of data loss due to sticking

Commercial Applications: Title: "Innovative Optical Recording Medium for Enhanced Data Storage" This technology can be utilized in the manufacturing of optical discs, data storage devices, and archival systems, catering to industries such as data storage, entertainment, and information technology.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the first convex structure layer prevent sticking between optical recording mediums?

  - The first convexities formed by the first particles on the surface of the layer reduce contact points, minimizing adhesion.

2. What are the primary materials used in the first convex structure layer?

  - The layer consists of first particles and a first resin material to create the necessary surface properties for preventing sticking.

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided is an optical recording medium capable of suppressing sticking between the optical recording mediums in a case where a plurality of optical recording mediums are superimposed on each other. The optical recording medium includes an optical recording medium main body having a first surface and a second surface, and a first convex structure layer provided on the first surface. The first convex structure layer has a surface provided with a plurality of first convexities, and includes first particles and a first resin material. The plurality of first convexities are formed by a part of the first particles included in the first convex structure layer, the part of the first particles protruding from the surface of the first convex structure layer.
