CONDITIONAL COMMUNICATION PATH SWITCH - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18569369 titled 'CONDITIONAL COMMUNICATION PATH SWITCH

Simplified Explanation

A serving base station sends a message to a remote user equipment device to switch to a different communication path when a condition is met.

  • The message instructs the remote device to switch from the current communication path to an alternate path.
  • The alternate path is a different type of communication from the current path.
  • The current path can be indirect through relay devices or direct without relays.

Key Features and Innovation

  • Conditional path switch reconfiguration message for remote user equipment.
  • Ability to switch between different communication paths.
  • Instructions to switch based on specific conditions being met.

Potential Applications

This technology can be used in:

  • Mobile communication networks.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
  • Industrial automation systems.

Problems Solved

  • Efficient management of communication paths.
  • Seamless transition between different types of communication.
  • Enhanced reliability and performance of remote devices.

Benefits

  • Improved communication reliability.
  • Enhanced network efficiency.
  • Better overall performance of remote devices.

Commercial Applications

Conditional Path Switching Technology in Mobile Networks

This technology can be utilized by mobile network operators to optimize communication paths for remote devices, improving network efficiency and user experience.

Questions about Conditional Path Switching Technology

How does the conditional path switch reconfiguration message work?

The message instructs the remote device to switch to an alternate communication path when specific conditions are met, ensuring efficient communication.

What are the potential benefits of using this technology in IoT devices?

By enabling seamless path switching, IoT devices can maintain reliable connections and optimize performance based on changing network conditions.

Original Abstract Submitted

A serving base station connected to a remote user equipment (UE) device over a current communication path sends a conditional path switch reconfiguration message to the remote UE device. The current communication path is either an indirect communication type through at least one relay UE device or a direct communication type without relay UE devices. The conditional path switch reconfiguration message instructs the remote UE device to switch from the current communication path to an alternate communication path when a condition is met. The alternate communication path is a different communication type from the current communication type of the current communication path.
