WAVEFORM FOR SIDELINK WAKEUP SIGNAL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18567863 titled 'WAVEFORM FOR SIDELINK WAKEUP SIGNAL

The abstract describes a method of wireless communication where a first user equipment (UE) monitors for a sequence in resource elements transmitted by a second UE during an offset before a discontinuous reception (DRX ON) period. Upon receiving a wake-up signal (WUS) from the second UE, the first UE enters DRX ON mode and receives a transport block via a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH).

  • Monitoring for a sequence in resource elements during an offset before a DRX ON period
  • Receiving a wake-up signal (WUS) from a second UE
  • Entering DRX ON mode in response to the WUS
  • Receiving a transport block via a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH)

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems to efficiently manage control information transmission between user equipment. - It can be used in IoT devices for reliable and low-power communication.

Problems Solved: - Efficient monitoring and communication of control information in wireless systems. - Optimizing power consumption in IoT devices during communication.

Benefits: - Improved communication reliability. - Reduced power consumption for extended device battery life.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Wireless Communication Systems for IoT Devices This technology can be commercially applied in IoT devices, smart sensors, and other wireless communication systems to enhance data transmission efficiency and reduce power consumption, leading to improved device performance and longevity.

Questions about Wireless Communication Systems: 1. How does this technology improve the efficiency of control information transmission in wireless communication systems? 2. What are the key benefits of using a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) for data transmission in this method?

Original Abstract Submitted

Wireless communications systems and methods related to communicating control information are provided. A method of wireless communication performed by a first user equipment (UE) may include monitoring, during an offset before a discontinuous reception on (DRX ON) period, for a sequence in resource elements transmitted by a second UE, receiving, based on the monitoring for the sequence in resource elements, a wake-up signal (WUS) from the second UE, entering a DRX ON mode in response to receiving the wake-up signal, and receiving, from the second UE, a transport block via a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH).
