AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18562969 titled 'AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an air-conditioning apparatus with a controller that determines the response time required for stabilizing heating and cooling capacity in a refrigeration cycle circuit.

  • The controller calculates two determination values based on a time constant and constants.
  • The apparatus adjusts the compressor's operation frequency based on the duration of intermittent operation.
  • The controller increases the frequency if the operation time is longer than the first determination value and decreases it if shorter than the second determination value.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Controller with determination values based on time constant and constants.
  • Adjustment of compressor operation frequency based on intermittent operation duration.

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in various air-conditioning systems to optimize compressor operation and improve energy efficiency.

Problems Solved:

  • Stabilizing heating and cooling capacity in a refrigeration cycle circuit.
  • Optimizing compressor operation frequency for intermittent operation.

Benefits:

  • Improved energy efficiency.
  • Enhanced performance of air-conditioning systems.
  • Reduced wear and tear on compressor components.

Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include HVAC systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, as well as refrigeration units in various industries.

Prior Art: Readers can explore prior patents related to air-conditioning control systems and compressor operation frequency optimization.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on research related to air-conditioning control systems, compressor efficiency, and energy-saving technologies.

Questions about Air-Conditioning Apparatus: 1. How does the controller determine the response time for stabilizing heating and cooling capacity? 2. What are the potential energy-saving benefits of adjusting the compressor's operation frequency based on intermittent operation duration?

Original Abstract Submitted

An air-conditioning apparatus includes a controller that has: a first determination value obtained by multiplying by a first constant, a time constant which is a response value required until heating and cooling capacity in refrigeration circulation in a refrigeration cycle circuit is stabilized, and which is a value at a rise of a waveform representing the heating and cooling capacity calculated from a measured value; and a second determination value obtained by multiplying the time constant by a second constant smaller than the first constant. The controller increases the lowest frequency for a subsequent operation of the compressor, when in the intermittent operation, an intermittent operation time from the start to stop of the compressor is longer than the first determination value, and deceases the lowest frequency for the above subsequent operation, when in the intermittent operation, the intermittent operation time is shorter than the second determination value.
