COMMUNICATION METHODS AND MULTILINK APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18559904 titled 'COMMUNICATION METHODS AND MULTILINK APPARATUS

The present invention involves a communication method in a wireless communication network with an access point, AP, and a multi-link device, MLD, that has multiple affiliated access points, as well as at least one station MLD with multiple affiliated stations. Both the station MLD and AP MLD can exchange data using one or more links.

  • The station MLD transmits a multi-link buffer status report (ML-BSR) to the AP MLD, indicating the amount of data to be transmitted, for the AP MLD to schedule a resource for the station MLD to transmit data.
  • The ML-BSR also includes an indication of the link on which the station MLD expects to be scheduled for the transmission of the data.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in various wireless communication networks to improve data transmission efficiency. - It can be used in IoT devices, smart homes, and industrial automation for seamless data exchange.

Problems Solved: - Efficient scheduling of resources for data transmission in wireless networks. - Optimizing data exchange between multiple affiliated access points and stations.

Benefits: - Enhanced data transmission efficiency. - Improved network performance and reliability. - Streamlined communication between devices in a network.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Data Transmission Method for Wireless Networks This technology can be commercially used in telecommunications companies, IoT device manufacturers, and network infrastructure providers to optimize data transmission in wireless networks, leading to improved overall performance and user experience.

Questions about Enhanced Data Transmission Method for Wireless Networks: 1. How does this technology improve data transmission efficiency in wireless networks? - This technology enhances data transmission efficiency by allowing the AP MLD to schedule resources based on the ML-BSR transmitted by the station MLD, optimizing data exchange between devices in the network.

2. What are the potential applications of this communication method in various industries? - This communication method can be applied in telecommunications, IoT, and industrial automation sectors to streamline data exchange and improve network performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present invention concerns a communication method in a wireless communication network comprising an access point, AP, multi-link device, MLD, having multiple affiliated access points, and at least one station MLD, having multiple affiliated stations, both station MLD and AP MLD being able to exchange data using one or more links, the method comprising at the station MLD: transmitting to the AP MLD a multi-link buffer status report, ML-BSR, comprising an indication relating to an amount of data to be transmitted, for the AP MLD to schedule a resource to the station MLD to transmit data; and wherein the ML-BSR further comprises an indication relating to a link on which the station MLD expects to be scheduled for the transmission of the amount of data to be transmitted.
