NETWORK SLICE ADMISSION CONTROL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18559305 titled 'NETWORK SLICE ADMISSION CONTROL

The patent application discusses resolving race conditions during a Network Slice Admission Control (NSAC) update in a mobile communication network.

  • Processor and network interface used to communicate with network functions.
  • Receives indication for preliminary removal of a device from a network slice.
  • Determines registration status of the device before removing it from the list.
  • Selectively removes the device based on the determination.

Potential Applications: - Mobile communication networks - Network slice management systems - Telecommunication infrastructure

Problems Solved: - Resolving race conditions during NSAC updates - Efficient device registration management in network slices

Benefits: - Improved network slice admission control - Enhanced device registration management - Optimal resource allocation in mobile networks

Commercial Applications: - Telecommunication companies - Network equipment manufacturers - Mobile network operators

Questions about Network Slice Admission Control: 1. How does the patent application address race conditions during NSAC updates?

The patent application utilizes a processor and network interface to manage device registration in network slices, ensuring efficient control updates.

2. What are the potential benefits of selectively removing devices from a network slice based on registration status?

Selectively removing devices based on registration status can lead to improved resource allocation and network efficiency.

Original Abstract Submitted

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for resolving race conditions during a Network Slice Admission Control (“NSAC”) update. One apparatus includes a processor and a network interface that communicates with at least one network function in a mobile communication network. Via the network interface, the processor receives an indication for preliminary removal of a first device registered with a first network slice. The processor determines a registration status of the first device and selectively removes the first device from a list of devices registered with the first network slice based on the determination.
