Methods and Devices in Communication Network - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18556380 titled 'Methods and Devices in Communication Network
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a method for a relay entity to provide a user ID of a remote UE under privacy protection to a Network Function in a network. This involves obtaining contact information and a private ID from a second NF, which can be used to resolve the user ID, and sending this information to the first NF.
- Relay entity provides user ID of remote UE under privacy protection to a Network Function.
- Obtains contact information and private ID from a second NF.
- Information is used to resolve the user ID and sent to the first NF.
Key Features and Innovation
- Method for protecting user privacy while providing necessary information to Network Functions.
- Use of private ID to resolve user ID without compromising privacy.
- Enables secure communication between network entities.
Potential Applications
- Telecommunications networks
- Data privacy protection systems
- Network function virtualization
Problems Solved
- Balancing the need for information exchange with user privacy concerns.
- Ensuring secure communication between network entities.
- Resolving user IDs without exposing sensitive information.
Benefits
- Enhanced user privacy protection.
- Secure communication within the network.
- Efficient resolution of user IDs.
Commercial Applications
Secure Data Exchange in Telecommunications Networks: This technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies to ensure secure data exchange while protecting user privacy, enhancing trust among customers and complying with data protection regulations.
Prior Art
There may be prior art related to methods of protecting user privacy in data exchange within telecommunications networks or network function virtualization technologies.
Frequently Updated Research

The method uses a private ID to resolve the user ID, ensuring that sensitive user information is not exposed during data exchange.
What are the potential implications of this technology for network security?
This technology enhances network security by enabling secure communication between network entities while protecting user privacy.
Original Abstract Submitted
The present disclosure provides a method for a relay entity to provide a user ID of a remote UE under privacy protection to a first Network Function (NF) in a network, wherein connectivity between the remote UE and the network is provided by the relay entity, comprising obtaining contact information of a second NF and a private ID corresponding to the user ID from the second NF, wherein the contact information can be used by the first NF to contact the second NF to resolve the user ID based on the private ID; and sending the contact information and the private ID to the first NF. Corresponding methods for the remote UE, the first NF and the second NF are also provided. The corresponding apparatus, system, device, computer-readable storage and carrier, etc. thereof are also provided.
