PRIORITY-BASED TRANSMISSION METHOD AND DEVICE ASSOCIATED WITH TARGET WAKE TIME OPERATION IN WIRELESS LAN SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18551307 titled 'PRIORITY-BASED TRANSMISSION METHOD AND DEVICE ASSOCIATED WITH TARGET WAKE TIME OPERATION IN WIRELESS LAN SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a priority-based transmission method and device associated with a target wake time operation in a wireless LAN system. The method involves exchanging frames by a station (STA) before the starting point of a service period (SP) of a restricted target wake time (r-TWT) received from an access point (AP).

  • The method involves receiving information related to a restricted target wake time (r-TWT) from an access point (AP).
  • Frames are exchanged before the starting point of a service period (SP) of the r-TWT.
  • The information related to the r-TWT is included in a TWT element comprising a TWT parameter set field format.
  • The TWT parameter set field format includes a TWT information field.
  • The TWT information field may include a TID subfield for traffic associated with the r-TWT.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various wireless LAN systems to improve efficiency and prioritize transmissions based on target wake times.

Problems Solved

This technology helps in optimizing frame exchanges in wireless LAN systems, particularly in relation to restricted target wake times, improving overall network performance.

Benefits

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are a priority-based transmission method and device associated with a target wake time operation in a wireless LAN system. The method for exchanging frames by a station (STA) in a wireless LAN system according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise the steps of: receiving information relating to a restricted target wake time (r-TWT) from an access point (AP); and exchanging frames before the starting point of a service period (SP) of the r-TWT. The information relating to the r-TWT is included in a TWT element comprising a TWT parameter set field format. The TWT parameter set field format comprises a TWT information field. The TWT information field may comprise a TID subfield for traffic associated with the r-TWT.
