INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18544842 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

The abstract describes an information processing apparatus that can switch an imaging unit based on the movement of a subject.

  • The determination unit analyzes images from multiple image capturing units to determine if a subject has performed a specific movement.
  • The selection unit then selects an image from the appropriate image capturing unit associated with the movement.
  • The selected image is output to a display unit or recording unit for further use.

Potential Applications: - This technology could be used in sports training to analyze and capture specific movements of athletes. - It could also be applied in healthcare for monitoring patient movements during physical therapy sessions.

Problems Solved: - Enables precise tracking and analysis of subject movements. - Automates the selection of images based on predetermined movements.

Benefits: - Improves accuracy and efficiency in capturing specific movements. - Enhances the ability to monitor and analyze movements in various fields.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Movement Tracking Technology for Sports Training and Healthcare This technology can be commercialized in sports training facilities, healthcare institutions, and research laboratories for movement analysis and monitoring purposes.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology improve upon traditional methods of movement tracking? - This technology automates the selection of images based on specific movements, enhancing efficiency and accuracy compared to manual selection processes.

2. What are the potential cost-saving benefits of implementing this technology in various industries? - By streamlining the process of capturing and analyzing movements, this technology can potentially reduce labor costs and improve overall productivity.

Original Abstract Submitted

An information processing apparatus capable of switching an imaging unit according to the intention of a subject or the like comprises a determination unit configured to determine whether a subject has made a predetermined movement based on images from at least one of a plurality of image capturing units, and a selection unit configured to select an image from a predetermined image capturing unit that has been associated with the predetermined movement from among images from the plurality of the image capturing units and output to a display unit or a recording unit, in a case in which it has been determined by the determination unit that the predetermined movement has been performed.
