POSITIONING DEVICE, MOVING OBJECT, POSITIONING METHOD AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18542931 titled 'POSITIONING DEVICE, MOVING OBJECT, POSITIONING METHOD AND STORAGE MEDIUM

The positioning device described in the patent application uses a processor to detect a light source and a target object in an image captured by an imager, allowing it to derive the position of a moving object in space based on the positions of the light source and target object.

  • Processor detects light source and target object in image
  • Moving object with imager moves in space
  • Position of moving object derived based on positions of light source and target object in image
  • Known positions of light source and target object in space used for calculation

Potential Applications: - Surveillance systems - Robotics - Autonomous vehicles - Augmented reality

Problems Solved: - Accurate positioning of moving objects - Real-time tracking - Enhanced spatial awareness

Benefits: - Improved navigation systems - Increased safety in various applications - Enhanced efficiency in object tracking

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Positioning Device for Enhanced Object Tracking This technology can be utilized in industries such as surveillance, robotics, and autonomous vehicles to improve accuracy and efficiency in object tracking, leading to safer and more effective operations.

Original Abstract Submitted

A positioning device includes at least one processor. The at least one processor detects a light source and a target object different from the light source in an image captured by an imager. A moving object has the imager and moves in a space. The at least one processor derives a position of the moving object in the space based on positions of the light source and the target object in the image and known positions of the light source and the target object in the space.
