PROVIDING RELEVANT DATA ITEMS BASED ON CONTEXT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18538359 titled 'PROVIDING RELEVANT DATA ITEMS BASED ON CONTEXT
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes systems and processes for operating an intelligent automated assistant. The technology involves receiving a user's selected data items, identifying confidence values for these items, ordering the data items, displaying the first item, receiving updated context information, detecting updates to confidence values, and modifying the order of data items based on confidence values to display the most relevant item.
- User selects data items
- Confidence values for data items are identified
- Data items are ordered
- First data item is displayed
- Context information is updated
- Confidence value updates are detected
- Order of data items is modified based on confidence values
- Most relevant data item is displayed
Potential Applications
This technology can be applied in various fields such as virtual assistants, customer service chatbots, personalized recommendation systems, and smart home devices.
Problems Solved
- Efficiently displaying relevant information to users - Improving user experience by prioritizing data items based on confidence values - Enhancing the functionality of intelligent automated assistants
Benefits
- Increased user satisfaction - Time-saving by displaying the most relevant information first - Improved decision-making based on updated confidence values
Potential Commercial Applications
"Intelligent Automated Assistant Technology for Personalized Recommendations"
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be the use of machine learning algorithms to prioritize and display relevant information to users based on confidence values.
What are the technical specifications of the intelligent automated assistant system described in the patent application?
The technical specifications of the intelligent automated assistant system, such as the algorithms used for identifying confidence values, ordering data items, and detecting updates, are not explicitly mentioned in the patent application. Further details on the implementation and technical aspects of the system would be required to fully understand its operation.
How does the intelligent automated assistant system handle user privacy and data security?
The patent application does not provide information on how the intelligent automated assistant system handles user privacy and data security. It is essential to consider how user data is collected, stored, and used to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and protect sensitive information. Additional details on data handling practices and security measures would be necessary to assess the system's privacy and security implications.
Original Abstract Submitted
Systems and processes for operating an intelligent automated assistant are provided. In one example, a plurality of data items selected by a user are received, wherein a plurality of confidence values corresponding to the plurality of data items are identified. The plurality of data items is ordered. The first data item is displayed, and updated context information associated with the electronic device is received. An update to the plurality of confidence values is detected, wherein the updated plurality of confidence values includes a third confidence value associated with a third data item of the plurality of ordered data items. In accordance with a determination that the third confidence value is higher than a first confidence value of the first data item, an order of the plurality of ordered data items is modified, and the third data item of the plurality of ordered data items is displayed.
