ANTI-BUCKLING DEVICE WITH RETAINER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18525249 titled 'ANTI-BUCKLING DEVICE WITH RETAINER

Simplified Explanation: The anti-buckling device for an interventional device assembly consists of a telescoping tube with a proximal end connected to a first hub and a distal retainer that can couple to different hubs in different configurations.

  • Telescoping tube with proximal and distal ends
  • Proximal end connected to a first hub
  • Distal retainer at the distal end
  • Distal retainer can couple to a distal hub attachment in one configuration and a second hub in another configuration

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Telescoping tube design for flexibility
  • Distal retainer for versatile hub attachment
  • Ability to switch between different hub configurations

Potential Applications:

  • Interventional medical procedures
  • Endoscopic surgeries
  • Minimally invasive treatments

Problems Solved:

  • Prevents buckling of interventional devices
  • Allows for easy attachment to different hubs
  • Enhances maneuverability during procedures

Benefits:

  • Improved control and stability
  • Versatile hub attachment options
  • Enhanced safety for patients

Commercial Applications: Anti-buckling devices can be used in various interventional procedures in medical settings, potentially improving outcomes and patient safety. The market for such devices could include hospitals, surgical centers, and medical device manufacturers.

Prior Art: Readers interested in exploring prior art related to anti-buckling devices for interventional device assemblies may want to research patents in the field of interventional medical devices, surgical tools, and device attachments.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers in the field of interventional medicine and medical device design may be conducting studies on the effectiveness of anti-buckling devices in improving procedural outcomes and patient safety.

Questions about Anti-Buckling Devices: 1. How do anti-buckling devices contribute to the success of interventional procedures? 2. What are the key considerations when choosing an anti-buckling device for a specific medical procedure?

Original Abstract Submitted

An anti-buckling device for an interventional device assembly includes a telescoping tube having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the telescoping tube being coupled to a first hub of an interventional device assembly, and a distal retainer coupled to the distal end of the telescoping tube, the distal retainer being configured to releasably couple to a distal hub attachment at a distal end of the first hub in a first configuration and releasably couple to a second hub of the interventional device assembly positioned distal to the first hub in a second configuration.
