This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18524446 titled 'STEADY RANGE DETERMINATION SYSTEM, STEADY RANGE DETERMINATION METHOD, AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a device that determines a steady range of a multilevel signal in operation data by converting the signal into binary form and using a prediction model to calculate a probability of the signal value existing within a certain range.
- Conversion unit converts multilevel signal into binary signal using a threshold value.
- Prediction unit inputs binary signal into prediction model to calculate prediction value.
- Range determination unit calculates probability of signal value existing within determined range based on prediction value and threshold.
- Steady range of multilevel signal in operation data is determined based on probability.

Original Abstract Submitted
A steady range determination device () determines a steady range of a multilevel signal in operation data containing the multilevel signal. A conversion unit () converts the multilevel signal into at least one binary signal with using a threshold value. A prediction unit () inputs the binary signal converted by the conversion unit () to a prediction model () and calculates a converted binary signal prediction value. A range determination unit () calculates, based on the converted binary signal prediction value and the threshold value, a probability that a signal value of the multilevel signal contained in the operation data exists in a range determined based on the threshold value. The range determination unit () determines the steady range of the multilevel signal contained in the operation data, on a basis of the probability.
