PROCESSING APPARATUS, PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18520879 titled 'PROCESSING APPARATUS, PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM

The patent application describes a processing apparatus for personal authentication using an image without the need to register a camera image.

  • Acquisition unit acquires collation information, which includes a camera image of a collation-target person or an image representing a three-dimensional shape of a person restored from the camera image.
  • Collation unit compares the collation information with reference person information of multiple reference persons, each represented by an image of a three-dimensional shape restored from a camera image.
  • Output unit performs processing based on the collation result.

Potential Applications: - Personal authentication systems - Security systems - Access control systems

Problems Solved: - Eliminates the need to store camera images for personal authentication - Enhances security and privacy by using alternative image representations

Benefits: - Improved security measures - Enhanced privacy protection - Simplified personal authentication process

Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced Personal Authentication System for Enhanced Security" This technology can be used in various industries such as banking, healthcare, and government agencies to secure access to sensitive information and facilities.

Prior Art: There are existing methods for personal authentication using images, but this innovation focuses on using alternative image representations for enhanced security and privacy.

Frequently Updated Research: There may be ongoing research on improving the accuracy and efficiency of personal authentication systems using alternative image representations.

Questions about Personal Authentication Using Image Without Registering Camera Image: 1. How does this technology compare to traditional methods of personal authentication using camera images? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this system in real-world applications?

Original Abstract Submitted

To perform personal authentication using an image without registering a camera image, the present invention provides a processing apparatus including: an acquisition unit that acquires collation information including a camera image being an image of a collation-target person generated by a camera, or an image being restored from the camera image and representing a three-dimensional shape of a person; a collation unit that collates the collation information with reference person information including an image being restored from a camera image and representing a three-dimensional shape of each of a plurality of reference persons; and an output unit that executes processing depending on a result of the collation.
